Alessandro Maiuolo Featured on Front Page of LA Times Sports Section

CLAREMONT, Calif. - CMS kicker Alessandro Maiuolo was featured on the front page of the Los Angeles Times sports section on Wednesday, in a story penned by columnist Helene Elliott.

The article, titled "He makes footballs, rockets take flight" details Maiuolo's success athletically, where he was a second-team All-SCIAC selection last year and is a three-time SCIAC Specialist of the Week this year, including after making a 54-yard field goal in a win over Cal Lutheran. It also profiles his success academically, where he carries a 4.0 as an engineering major at Harvey Mudd and is part of the college's amateur rocketry club. 

CMS is 5-1 overall this season and is 3-0 in the SCIAC with three regular season games remaining, at Whittier on Saturday, home for the final time against Redlands on Nov. 5, and at Pomona-Pitzer on Nov. 12. The annual Sixth Street Rivalry game could shape up as a battle for the SCIAC title, or a share of it, as Pomona-Pitzer is also 3-0.
