Alessandro Maiuolo Earns SCIAC Specialist of the Week Honor for Second Straight Week

CLAREMONT, Calif. - Senior kicker Alessandro Maiuolo was named the SCIAC Football Specialist of the Week for games through Saturday, Oct. 1, the league office announced today.

Maiuolo was perfect on his kicks, hitting 2-2 on field goals and 4-4 on extra points in a 41-13 win at La Verne. He connected on a 30-yarder on the final play of the first half to give CMS a 17-0 lead going into the break, and added a 35-yarder on the first possession of the second half to stretch the lead to 20-0.

Maiuolo also made two field goals the previous week in a big 25-21 road win over preseason SCIAC favorite Redlands. He has now won the honor three times in his career, including in a 16-9 home win over Chapman in 2018, which gave the Stags their first SCIAC title in 31 years, and their first-ever NCAA Division III Tournament bid.

CMS will next be in action when it hosts another home game with Chapman, this time earlier in the conference season, facing the Panthers at 1 p.m. at Zinda Field.
