Adam Dapkewicz Earns Spot on ABCA All-Region X Defensive Team
CLAREMONT, Calif. - Catcher Adam Dapkewicz earned a selection to the American Baseball Coaches Association All-Defensive Team for Region X, the organization announced recently.
Dapkewicz started 44 of 47 games for the Stags at catcher this season, and committed only two errors for a .993 fielding percentage, while finishing with only nine passed balls. His work behind the plate helped CMS set a new program record for wins in a season (32) and earn its first NCAA bid since 1996.
Dapkewicz was also a first-team All-Region selection from the ABCA, while earning second-team distinction from D3baseball.com, while playing his graduate season for CMS after previously playing at Division I Georgetown. He batted .358 with eight homers and 43 RBI, and had half of his homers in the postseason, hitting round-trippers in three straight games in the SCIAC Tournament, a three-run blast in a 10-9 win over Cal Lutheran, a two-run shot in a 4-1 win over La Verne, and a three-run shot that put CMS ahead in the championship round against Pomona-Pitzer.
After Dapkewicz helped the Stags reach its first NCAA Tournament in 28 years, he added five hits in the NCAA Regionals, including another homer in in a win over Centenary.
