Adam Dapkewicz Earns SCIAC Hitter of the Week Honors for CMS Baseball

CLAREMONT, Calif. - Adam Dapkewicz of the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps baseball team earned the SCIAC Hitter of the Week honor for games through Sunday, April 14, the conference office announced today.

Dapkiewicz earned the honor after helping CMS take the series from Redlands two games to one. He batted 7-for-13 over the weekend, with a homer, a double and seven RBI, capping it off with a 4-for-4, five-RBI performance in the rubber game of the series on Saturday, when he had a two-run single in the first to make the score 3-0, and then had a bases-clearing double to break the game open and put CMS ahead 9-3. He also had a solo homer in his first at-bat of the weekend to give CMS an early lead at Redlands.

Dapkiewicz becomes the second SCIAC Hitter of the Week for the Stags this season, joining Andrew Mazzone, who had a big game himself against Redlands, belting three homers in a 9-6 win in the first game of the Saturday doubleheader. Kody Perry also earned the Pitcher of the Week honor after opening weekend against Chicago in February.

CMS will be back in action this weekend for a three-game series with Occidental, taking on the Tigers at Pomona-Pitzer for a single game on Friday at 3 p.m. before traveling to Occidental for a Saturday doubleheader at 11 a.m.
