CJ Novogradac Honored as Academic All-District

Greenwood, Ind. - On Thursday morning the Collegiate Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) announced the recipients of the Google Cloud Academic All-District award for NCAA Division III baseball. Among the players honored this morning was the Stags' designated hitter, CJ Novogradac (CMC). One of 11 student-athletes named to the District 8 team, a region that is made up of all schools in the west, Novogradac earns the first Academic All-District honor of his career.

In the classroom, Novogradac boasts an impressive 3.92 grade point average (GPA) as a Economics & Finance major at Claremont McKenna.

On the field, Novogradac broke out during his junior season and was a mainstay in the Stags' line-up all year long. Slotting in the middle of the order for CMS, Novogradac appeared in 39 games and led the Stags with a .346 batting average and .462 on base percentage. He was second on the team with a .529 slugging percentage, finishing the year with nine doubles, two triples, and four home runs. As the primary designated hitter, the righty drove home 30 runs while scoring 27 of his own during the 2018 season.

The CoSIDA Academic All-District award honors student-athletes that excel on the field and in the classroom. Academic All-District honorees advance to the Google Cloud Academic All-America ballot, with the First and Second Team Academic All-American honorees to be announced in June.
