Bio

Ellen Berkley is a senior at CMC majoring in Science and Management with the Biotechnology sequence. She spent the summer researching in an organic chemistry lab and during the first week of work went on a Mt. Baldy hike with the science department. About half way up the mountain, she wondered who the Professor casually darting up the mountain was. At her first stop (and probably last) she met Lars, and he told her that he wanted to start a summer running group. She told him she’d love to join to get in shape for soccer season. Before she knew it, she had ventured off the track and onto to the trails, with hills and runs longer than five miles. Quickly, her longest run ever became her shortest, and she was joining Strava and getting lost on out and backs.

Before this past summer, you would rarely see her running without chasing after a ball, as she has enjoyed three years playing both soccer and lacrosse for CMS. She is very excited to take her competitive energy from contact sports to running and to compete for the first time ever for CMS Cross Country.
