Emily Burger Takes Women's Field Athlete of the Week Award for Athenas

CLAREMONT, Calif. - Emily Burger was named the SCIAC Women's Field Athlete of the Week for events through Sunday, Feb. 19, the league office announced today.

Burger finished second in the javelin behind only a thrower from DII Azusa Pacific at the Pomona-Pitzer All-Comers meet, reaching 35.14 meters (115'3"). She was also sixth in the shot put with a top distance of 10.11 meters (33'2"), finishing second among DIII throwers.

Burger becomes the second CMS women's track and field athlete to win the SCIAC Field Athlete of the Week honor after Elizabeth Kirschner took it following the CMS OIDFE Challenge in January. 

CMS will be back in action on Saturday when it hosts the annual Rossi Relays at the Burns Track Complex.
