CMS added All-Academic Team honors to its sixth straight SCIAC title

Eight Athenas Earn Spots on USTFCCCA All-Academic Team

CLAREMONT, Calif. - A total of eight members of the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps women's track and field team earned All-Academic honors from the the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.

USTFCCCA Track and Field All-Academic honors are given to student-athletes who carry at least a 3.3 cumulative GPA and who participated in the NCAA Championships or ranked in the top 50 individuals or top 35 relay teams in the country. 

Earning the honors for the Athenas were Natalie Bitetti, Meredith Bloss, Emily Clarke, Caroline DelVecchio, Riley Harmon, Mikaela Lipsky, Brooke Simon and Laura Zimmer. Bloss, Clarke, DelVecchio, and Simon added All-Academic honors to their All-America distinction during track and field season (Bitetti and Harmon were also All-Americans in cross country season). 

CMS also earned USTFCCCA All-Academic Team distinction, easily passing the 3.1 minimum standard with a 3.67 team GPA. 

The Athenas won the SCIAC Championship by just over 25 points, taking their sixth straight conference title, keeping the streak going after a two-year COVID hiatus.
