Meredith Bloss Captures CoSIDA Academic All-District Accolades

CLAREMONT, Calif. - Meredith Bloss earned a spot on the Division III Women's Cross Country/Track and Field Academic All-District team from the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA), the organization announced today.

Bloss is in action this week at the NCAA Division III Track and Field Championships, trying to earn her third All-America honor of the academic year. She was an All-American in cross country season, when she finished a team-high 13th to help CMS to its highest-ever finish at nationals, coming in second by just two points to Johns Hopkins. She then followed that up with an All-America honor in Indoor Track and Field season by coming in seventh place in the 5000 meters.

In the spring, Bloss qualified for both the 5000 and the 10000 meters, but will choose to focus on the 10000, where she is seeded sixth nationally, while teammates Riley Harmon and Emily Clarke run the 5000. The 10000 meters will be held tonight at the SPIRE Institute in Geneva, Ohio, and a top-eight finish would send her to the All-America podium for the third time.

Academically, Bloss carries over a 3.8 GPA as an engineering major after transferring from Cornell. She was a SCIAC All-Academic team selection last year while attending Harvey Mudd, although the athletic season was canceled by the pandemic.

By earning Academic All-District honors, Bloss is now eligible for Academic All-America, which will be announced next month.
