Athenas Take Fifth at Rossi Relays, Abraham Impresses in Seattle

CLAREMONT, Calif. – The Claremont-Mudd-Scripps women's track and field team took part in the Rossi Relays, hosted by CMS, on Saturday and finished fifth as a team in the field of 19. Two Athenas were also in action in Seattle, finishing with top marks.

On the Track

The Athenas posted one first-place finish on the day, winning the 4x800 meter relay with a time of 9:47.30.

Sabrine Griffith (CMC) finished fourth (15.27) in the 100 meter hurdles. Aubrey Egerter (HMC) (16.22) and Deyana March (HMC) (16.84) went 10 and 11 in the event, respectively.

Lauren Stanislaw (SC) finished in the top-10 in the 3000 meter, running her event in 10:29.78.

In the Field

Ameila Otto Cutting (HMC) posted a fourth-place finish in the high jump with a mark of 1.57m.

Amanda Gallop (SC) posted a top-10 finish with a 10.42m toss in the shot put, tying for ninth. The sophomore also competed in the javelin, throwing to a mark of 31.42m for seventh-place.

Griffith also competed in the long jump, leaping to 10th with a mark of 4.98m.

Carolyn Weisman (CMC) posted one of the best finishes on the day for the Athenas, placing third in the triple jump with a mark of 10.54m.

Athenas at Seattle Pacific Final Qualifier

Two of CMS' best were in Seattle on Saturday competing at the Seattle Pacific Final Qualifier. Both Tyra Abraham (SC) and Bryn McKillop (SC).

Abraham posted the second-fastest time in DIII in the 60 meter, finishing in the top spot at a mark of 7.66. She took second in the 200 meter with a time of 25.67.

McKillop finished second in the 3000 meter and was the top DIII finisher. She posted a time of 9:49.43 in the event.
