Eight Athenas Earn Scholar-Athlete Honors from Intercollegiate Tennis Association
CLAREMONT, Calif. - Eight members of the NCAA Division III national champion Claremont-Mudd-Scripps women's tennis program earned Intercollegiate Tennis Association Scholar-Athlete distinction for the 2022-23 academic year.
Olivia Almy, Ella Brissett, Alisha Chulani, Lindsay Eisenman, Gabby Lee, Sena Selby, Katherine Wurster and Devon Wolfe each earned a spot on the ITA Scholar-Athlete list, while the Athenas collectively earned ITA All-Academic Team distinction for having a team GPA over a 3.2.
Four of the eight honorees also earned ITA All-America honors this year, with Chulani winning in both singles and doubles. Wurster captured All-America in singles, while Lee and Eisenman earned it in doubles following their ITA West Regional titles.
CMS won its second straight national title with a 5-3 win over Chicago in the national championship match in Orlando, Florida on May 17. The Athenas also defeated Chicago in 2022 in Orlando for its second title in program history.
