After Perfect Weekend, Devon Wolfe Earns SCIAC Athlete of the Week Honors for CMS Women's Tennis

CLAREMONT, Calif. - After not dropping a single game in any of her five matches, Devon Wolfe earned the SCIAC Women's Tennis Athlete of the Week award for events through Sunday, April 10.

Wolfe compiled a 5-0 record (3-0 doubles, 2-0 singles) without dropping a single game. She had two 6-0, 6-0 singles wins on the same day in victories over San Diego Christian and Whittier on Friday, while also contributing to a 6-0 doubles win against San Diego Christian (playing by NAIA rules with doubles matches going to six games) and an 8-0 doubles win over Whittier. She capped off the weekend with another 8-0 doubles win against Chapman on Saturday, giving her an aggregate score of 46-0 in her five matches.

The Athenas won all three matches to improve to 18-2 on the season, and 4-0 in SCIAC. CMS has now had five different players win the SCIAC Athlete of the Week honor this season, as Wolfe joins Crystal Juan, Sydney Lee, Nikolina Batoshvili and Gabby Lee on the list of honorees.

CMS will be back in action on Saturday for a big match against Pomona-Pitzer, which will be held at 6 p.m. at the Biszantz Family Tennis Center. Both teams come in undefeated in SCIAC, with the Sagehens ranked No. 2 in the nation, and the Athenas right behind at No. 3.
