Biszantz Family Tennis Center to Serve as Host Site for ITA West Regional This Weekend

CLAREMONT, Calif. - The Biszantz Family Tennis Center at Claremont-Mudd-Scripps will serve as one of the host sites for the three-day Intercollegiate Tennis Association West Regionals, which will take place from Friday-Sunday.
Pomona-Pitzer will serve as the host for the three-day regionals, which will be split between Biszantz and Pomona College's Pauley Tennis Complex. The event gets started with doubles on Friday morning at 8:30 a.m., where the CMS team of Jack Kaztman and Robert Liu enters as the top seed on the men's side, and Sarah Bahsoun and Nikolina Batoshvili are the top seed for the women's half of the draw.
Both CMS top-seeded duos will begin competition at Biszantz, while Ian Freer and Matthew Robinson, the No. 2 seed, will begin play at 8:30 at Pomona-Pitzer.
Singles will be held exclusively at Pauley on Friday, with women's singles beginning at 9:30 a.m. Audrey Yoon of CMS will be the second seed, behind Angie Zhou of Pomona-Pitzer. Batoshvili enters seeded No. 5, Sena Selby at No. 6, and Gabby Lee at No. 7.
The men's singles competition will then start at 12 noon, with Katzman entering as the No. 1 seed. The Stags have the top three seeds in that field, with Robinson the No. 2 seed, and Liu the No. 3 seed, in addition to Philip Martin at No. 5 and Freer at No. 6.
Two rounds of singles will be played on Friday to get the field down to the quarterfinals, while the doubles competition will feature one round on Friday. Sunday's championships in both singles and doubles will be held at Pauley Tennis Complex.
