Win in No. 1 doubles highlights Athenas’ loss to Georgetown

CLAREMONT, Calif – A 7-2 home loss to Division I Georgetown University on March 10 at the Biszantz Family Tennis Center kicked off a stretch in the No. 5 Claremont-Mudd-Scripps women's tennis team's schedule that includes 10 of its next 11 matches at home. The match was the first in almost two weeks for the Athenas who are now 4-5 on the young season.

Monday's match was highlighted by a win for CMS in No. 1 doubles as freshman Katie Kuosman and sophomore Caroline Ward defeated Georgetown's Liselot Koenen and Victoria Saperstein 8-3. In No. 2 doubles, senior Chloe Dobbert and junior Sarah Kukino fell just short of victory, losing 9-8 to Madeline Jaeger and Kelly Comolli.

In singles play, the lone point for CMS came in No. 3 singles as Kukino defeated Jaeger 6-2, 6-4.

CMS is back in action on March 12 at home against Case Western Reserve at 4 p.m.
