CMS Swim and Dive Teams Earn Scholar All-America Team Honors for Fall Semester

CLAREMONT, Calif. - The Claremont-Mudd-Scripps women's and men's swimming and diving teams earned Scholar All-America distinction from the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America for the fall semester, the organization announced today.

Both the Athenas and Stags easily surpassed the minimum 3.0 team GPA to qualify for the honor. The Athenas had a 3.61 team GPA from its 35 participants, while the Stags had a 3.58 GPA from its 35-member roster. 

The CMS squads are both defending SCIAC Champions and have had success in and out of the pool. The Athenas are currently ranked No. 11 in the nation, while Stags are ranked No. 18. 

CMS will close out the regular season on Saturday when it competes at the Pomona-Pitzer Invitational. The Athenas and Stags will then turn their attention to the SCIAC Championships from Feb. 22-25, as they will try to defend their conference titles.
