Makenna Parkinson Wins Third Diver of the Week Honor of 2022-23 Season

CLAREMONT, Calif. - Makenna Parkinson of the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps women's swimming and diving team earned the SCIAC Diver of the Week Award for events through Sunday, Feb. 5, the league office announced today.

Parkinson celebrated her senior day with two narrow wins at the CMS Invitational, taking the one-meter with 514.70 points and the three-meter with 527.60 points. Her one-meter win was by just 2.65 points over teammate Emma Ng Pack, while her three-meter was by less than point (.70) over teammate Izzy Doud.

It marked the third Diver of the Week honor for Parkinson this season, and the sixth Diver of the Week Award for the Athenas. Doud has won it twice, while Ng Pack won it once. Combining the two programs, CMS has won it 11 times, with Cyrus Gaylord (two), Jack Griffith (two) and Bennett Matazzoni combined for five for the Stags. 

CMS will be next be in action from Feb. 15-18 at the SCIAC Championships, which will be held at East Los Angeles College (ELAC).
