Parkinson Earns Second Diver of the Week Honor of 2022-23 Season

CLAREMONT, Calif. - Makenna Parkinson of the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps women's swimming and diving team earned the SCIAC Diver of the Week honor for events through Sunday, Dec. 4, the league office announced today.

Parkinson won both diving events in a dual meet with Pomona-Pitzer on Friday and Saturday. She took the one meter on Friday with a score of 270.25, a victory margin of just under 10 points and then took the three meter on Saturday with a score of 259.40, winning by just over five points, edging out teammate Izzy Doud for both first-place finishes.

It marks Parkinson's second Diver of the Week honor of the season, after also earning it after a dual win over Occidental, and the fourth Diver of the Week for the Athenas overall. Doud earned it after winning the one-meter in a dual meet with Division I UC San Diego, and Emma Ng Pack captured it after the last meet for CMS against Caltech and Chapman.

CMS will be back in action in a month, when it resumes competition at the California Baptist Distance Meet on Jan. 6, before returning home for a SCIAC meet with Whittier on Jan. 7 at Axelrood Pool.
