Makenna Parkinson Captures SCIAC Diver of the Week Honors

CLAREMONT, Calif. - Senior Makenna Parkinson of the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps women's swimming and diving team earned the SCIAC Diver of the Week award for events through Sunday, Nov. 6, the league office announced today.

Parkinson swept both diving events to help CMS to a 188-108 win over Occidental in its SCIAC opener. She was first in the one-meter dive with a score of 269.05, and in the three-meter with a score of 272.50, earning her first zone qualifying scores of the new season.

It marks the second competition in a row in which CMS has come away with the Diver of the Week honor. Izzy Doud took it two weeks ago in the Athenas' season-opening meet at Division I UC San Diego. 

CMS will be back in action on Saturday when it hosts Chapman and Caltech in a SCIAC tri-meet for its first home event of the 2022-23 season.
