Augusta Lewis added Scholar All-America honors to her three All-America awards in the pool

Athenas Place 10 on CSCAA Scholar All-America Teams

CLAREMONT, Calif. - A total of 10 members of the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps women's swimming and diving team were honored by the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) on its Scholar All-America teams, the organization announced today.

None of the Athenas earned first-team Scholar All-America honors for earning a 3.5 GPA or higher and being selected to participate at nationals. First-team selections included Ella Blake, Katelyn Dang, Izzy Doud, Leila El Masri, Lexi Lee, Augusta Lewis, Natalia Orbach-Mandel, Kelly Prawira and Rachel Wander. Diver Makenna Parkinson was selected to the second team. 

Lewis added her Scholar All-America award to her trio of All-America honors, after finishing in the top four at the NCAA Championships in the 400 IM (second), 200 IM (third) and 200 breast (fourth). Earning honorable mention All-America honors at nationals for their individual events were Blake (10th in the 200 free), Dang (11th in the 200 fly), and Doud (14th in the one-meter dive, 16th in the three-meter dive). 

Wander and Dang were part of the 200-yard medley relay team that earned honorable mention All-America honors with a ninth-place finish, winning the consolation heat, The 400-yard medley relay team also earned honorable mention honors with a 10th place finish, which included Lewis and Orbach-Mandel, as did the 800-yard freestyle relay team in 11th with Lewis, Orbach-Mandel, El Masri and Blake, and the 400-yard freestyle relay team in 12th with Blake, Dang and Orbach-Mandel.

CMS finished the NCAA Division III Championships in 11th place as a team, the highest finish for the program since the 2012 team came in ninth place.
