CMS Women's Swimming and Diving Ranked No. 11 in Final Pre-Championship Poll

CLAREMONT, Calif. - The Claremont-Mudd-Scripps women's swimming and diving team, which is sending 12 student-athletes to the NCAA Division III Championships in two weeks, will head to nationals ranked No. 11 in the nation, after the final pre-championship poll was released today.

Kenyon took over the top spot in the latest poll by itself, followed by Emory, which slipped to No. 2 after being tied with Kenyon in the last poll. Tufts, Denison and Williams round out the top five. 

The Athenas had a tight battle with Pomona-Pitzer, currently ranked No. 9, for the SCIAC title before settling for a runner-up finish. Eight CMS student-athletes still managed to earn individual qualifying times at the event, led by Augusta Lewis, who will be the top seed in the 400 IM after a dominant win at SCIACs. Kelly PrawiraElla BlakeLeila El MasriGracey HiebertAva SealanderKatelyn Dang, and Jameson Mitchum earned their way into the NCAA Championships in their individual events.

In addition to the individual qualifiers, Lexi Lee, Natalia Orbach-Mandel, and Rachel Wander earned their way to Indianapolis as part of CMS relay teams. Izzy Doud became the 12th Athena to punch her ticket when she earned a diving qualification at the NCAA Regionals at Trinity last weekend.
