Emma Ng Pack, Jack Griffith Sweep SCIAC Diver of the Week Honors for CMS

CLAREMONT, Calif. - After each winning an event against Division I UC San Diego in their collegiate debuts, Emma Ng Pack of the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps women's swimming and diving team and Jack Griffith of the CMS men's swimming and diving team were both honored with SCIAC Diver of the Week honors, the league office announced today.

Ng Pack won the one-meter dive in her first collegiate meet, returning to competition after the COVID-19 pandemic prevented her from competing for the Athenas during her first year. She finished with 238.30 points in the one-meter, earning first place by just over nine points over Isabella Perez of UC San Diego, who had 229.20 points. Ng Pack also added a team-best fourth-place finish in the three-meter.

Griffith, meanwhile, won a close battle in the three-meter dive and earned a narrow second-place finish in the one-meter in his first collegiate competition against the Tritons. Griffith earned 256.50 points in the three-meter, edging Kyle Parenti of UC San Diego by just five points in a battle that came down to the final dive. In the one meter, he had 244.90 points, just 8.6 behind Parenti's winning total of 253.50.

Ng Pack, Griffith and the rest of the CMS swimming and diving teams will be in action at home for the first time in two weeks, when they host Occidental at 10 a.m. at Axelrood Pool. The divers will get underway first at 10 a.m., with the swimming competitions beginning at 11 a.m.
