Relays help Athenas move up to 13th after day two of NCAA Championships

NDIANOPOLIS, Ind. - The Athena 200 free relay team finished in the top eight and earned All-American honors while the 400 medley relay finished 13th on the second day of the NCAA Championships.  CMS is 13th with 42 points after day two.  The 200 free relay team of Michele Kee, Kelly Ngo, Courtney Chan and Helen Liu finished seventh in 1:34.50.  The 400 medley relay team of Erin MacLean, Ngo, Annika Jessen and Kee finished in 3:50.00.

Kee finished 14th in the 100 butterfly with a time of 56.82 to earn Honorable Mention All-American honors.

In preliminary action on Thursday, the Athenas had six individuals compete in addition to Kee.  Molly Loftus finished 29th in the 400 individual medley in 4:37.89.  In the 100 butterfly Jessen finished 21st in 56.83, MacLean was 24th in 56.93, Liu was 30th in 57.18 and Emily McKinnon finished 46th in 59.36.  Kayla Flaten competed in the prelims on the 400 medley relay.

Friday's events include the 200 butterfly, 100 backstroke, 100 breaststroke and the 800 freestyle relay.
