CMS Races At Redlands Pentathlon

CMS took to the water on Saturday, November 10 as members of the Stags and Athenas raced at the annual Redlands Pentathlon.  Seven of the nine SCIAC teams participated in the event, which required each swimmer to compete in the 100 yard butterfly, 100 backstroke, 100 breaststroke, 100 freestyle and 100 individual medley.  Times for the five events were tallied to establish the overall winners.

The Stags claimed four of the 10 ten overall performers, with freshman Matt Valentine placing third.  Teammates Jordan Lieberman, Cameron Whiting and Zach Alleva were fifth, seventh, and ninth, respectively.  Outside of the top 10, the Stags showed their depth with five additional team members ranking in the top 20.  The Athenas enjoyed two top 10 finishes, with sophomore Mackenzie Leake earning fifth and Mackenzie Marrs placing seventh.

CMS will host the University of Puget Sound in the two-day "West Coast Challenge."  The swim meet is slated to begin at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, November 16, with the second session starting at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 17.  The CMS divers will see action on Saturday at the University of Redlands Diving Invitational, scheduled to start at 10:00 a.m.
