Athenas Finish Ninth, Stags Finish 27th At NCAA Championships

CMS concluded the 2012 NCAA Division III Swimming & Diving Championships on Saturday with two All-American performances.  The Athenas finished the four-day meet in ninth place with 114 points.  The Stags finished 27th with 27 points.  This was the fourth straight top 10 finish for the women and their ninth top 15 finish in the last 11 years.

The Athenas earned their second All-American relay of the meet on Saturday as the 400 Free Relay team of Helen Liu, Emma Jones, Katie Bilotti and Michele Kee finished seventh with a time of 3:27.95.  The same four women finished ninth in the 200 Free Relay on Thursday. 

Vincent Pai earned All-American honors in the 200 Breaststroke for the second straight year by finishing fourth with a time of 2:01.01.  Pai earned Honorable Mention All-American honors in the 100 Breaststroke on Thursday.

All seven CMS athletes who participated in the meet scored points.  In addition to the performances listed above, Kee earned All-American honors in the 200 Individual Medley and the 200 Butterfly, Bilotti earned All-American honors in the 100 Butterfly and the 200 Medley Relay team of Elsa Cheng, Jones, Bilotti and Liu earned All-American honors.  James Stevick earned Honorable Mention All-American honors in both 1 meter and 3 meter diving.
