Bio

Travis Muntz enters his second season as an assistant coach with the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps women's basketball program in 2023-24.

In his debut season, Muntz helped CMS to a 12-4 record in SCIAC play, and helped coach Ariana Dalia to first-team All-SCIAC honors. Dalia finished her career with 39 points against Redlands in the SCIAC semifinals, setting a new league record for points in a tournament game.

Muntz joins the Athenas with three years of experience at the Division III level, most recently at Knox College, where he was an assistant coach during the 2021-22 season, and at Nebraska Wesleyan, where he was on the staff from 2019-21.

Previously, Muntz worked for four years at the junior college level, serving as an assistant men’s basketball coach at Jamestown Community College in New York, where he also simultaneously volunteered at the Division I women's level with St. Bonaventure University for one season in 2016-17.

As an undergraduate from 2005-10, Muntz worked closely with both the men’s and women’s basketball programs at West Virginia.  He served for two years under John Beilein at WVU as a manager with the men’s program, and for three years he was a practice player helping the women's team.

Muntz has a bachelor’s degree in history from West Virginia in 2010, and his master’s degree in sport management from California University (Pa.).
