Bio

Anthony Mason begins his fourth year as an assistant coach with the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps women's basketball program in the 2019-20 season, including his second consecutively.

Mason rejoined the CMS women's basketball coaching staff after a three-year hiatus while serving as the head boys basketball coach at Upland High School, where he still coaches. His tenure at Upland has included a run to the CIF Division II semifinals and California State quarterfinals in 2017-18.

Mason previously helped coach the Athenas to two SCIAC regular season and tournament titles, and a pair of NCAA Division III Tournament appearances during the 2013-14 and 2014-15 seasons. Before first joining the Athenas staff in 2013, Mason spent nine years coaching at Upland High School.

Mason received his bachelor of arts degree in sociology from Cal State Long Beach and continued his education by earning a master's in education in school and clinical counseling from Azusa Pacific University.  In addition to his scholastic and collegiate coaching experience, he has also worked as a director of Nothin' But Net basketball camps.
