THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. - Austyn Masuno and Jacey Carter each had 16 points but it wasn't enough as the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps women's basketball team dropped a 76-65 decision at Cal Lutheran on Wednesday evening.

With the loss, CMS falls to 10-14 overall and 7-8 in the SCIAC before it closes out the regular season against Pomona-Pitzer on Saturday at 7 p.m. Cal Lutheran improves to 7-14 overall and 5-10 in the league.

Carter shot 6-8 from the floor and 3-5 from three on her way to 16 points. Cameron Mallory led all scorers for Cal Lutheran with a line of 20 points, 10 rebounds and five assists.

The Athenas trailed 42-34 at the half, and got it back down to three points after a Carter three-pointer and a Flora Durgerian layup to start the second half. But CMS could come no closer, as Cal Lutheran scored on its final two possessions of the third quarter to take a 57-48 lead into the fourth.
