CLAREMONT, Calif. – The Claremont-Mudd-Scripps women's basketball team won 71-44 against the Emerson Lions on December 30, at Ducey Gym. With today's win, CMS goes 2-0 in the Caltech/CMS Classic and improves their team record to 3-8 overall.
CMS had a strong performance by Madeline Barnes, who led the team in points (27), assists (3), and rebounds (8). Aria Krumwiede had 18 points and a solid defensive effort with 5 steals. The Emerson Lions' lead performer was Kristin Brice who finished the game with 12 points and 8 rebounds.
Barnes was named the Most Outstanding Player of the CMS/Caltech Classic and Krumwiede was named to the All-Tournament Team.
The next CMS game is a neutral site game against Gallaudet at the California School for the Deaf, on January 2, 2013 at 7:00 p.m.
