Bio

Emily Ramey-Root is in her seventh year on the staff in the 2019-20 season and will coach the 400/800, multis, high jump and javelin.  While at CMS, Ramey-Root has coached 13 SCIAC Champions, 62 All-SCIAC members, two school record holders, 16 NCAA National qualifiers and five All-Americans.

After graduating from Concordia University (Irvine) in May 2013 with a Bachelor of Arts in History and Political Science, she now attends Claremont Graduate University studying for a Masters in History.  At Concordia, she competed in two Indoor Nationals as the 400 leg for the Distance Medley Relay (2011 & 2013), two Outdoor Nationals in the Heptathlon (2012 & 2013), and holds the school record for the Heptathlon [4244].  Prior to transferring to Concordia Irvine, she attended Concordia University Chicago where she received the Most Valuable Freshman award for the Indoor and Outdoor Conference meet, along with being the Indoor Women’s Team Conference Champions and Outdoor Conference Championships runners-up. She also holds the school record in the throwers relay and pentathlon.
