Bio

A former member of the CMS women’s swimming and diving team, Katie Erickson enters her first season as an assistant coach with the men's and women's programs in 2021-22.

Erickson attended Harvey Mudd College, where she graduated with distinction in 2019 after earning her bachelor’s degree in mathematical and computational biology. She competed for the CMS women’s swimming and diving team in 2015-16 as a first-year, contributing to a medley relay win in a dual over Redlands in her first month of competition.

Outside of the pool, Erickson has been actively involved at Harvey Mudd over the last six years in a variety of capacities. She has spent the last two years since her graduation working as a lab technician, conducting research to delimit species of Indo-Pacific zooxanthellate soft corals.

As an undergraduate, Erickson worked as an intern in the Harvey Mudd office of admissions her senior year, and was a computer science grader and tutor all four years. She was an Associated Students of Harvey Mudd College Senate member from 2017-19, and also served as an orientation leader, as an advocate for survivors of sexual assault, and as a dorm mentor and president.

Prior to attending Harvey Mudd, Erickson served as the captain of the Campolindo High School varsity swimming team, and as a team captain for Orinda Aquatics.
