Mark Gilbreth

The multi-talented Gilbreth was not only a three-time All-American in the decathlon, but was one of the most prolific point scorers in SCIAC history.  He scored 75 points in SCIAC Championship competition by placing 16 times in seven events with his only win coming as a senior in the 110m High Hurdles.  A true 'jack of all trades', Gilbreth was a dual meet phenom.  He scored in 10 different events in dual meets and competed in as many as seven events in a single dual meet.  He was voted CMS Most Valuable Athlete in 1990, 1992 and 1993.  On the national scene, he place in three NCAA Championships: 7th - 1991, 3rd - 1992 (with a PR and school record performance of 6686) and 4th - 1993.  He was a member of 1992 team which has the distinction of being the first track team in CMS history to win the SCIAC Championship.
