On Court: Plays an aggressive baseline gamestyle...played on Redwood HS team that captured 2005 - 2006 NCS titles...had four (4) undefeated seasons playing doubles with brother Eric, including the 2004 NCS Doubles title...2004 NorCal Sectional doubles champion with Eric...ranked in the top 20 in Boys 18s singles in NorCal, and 7th in doubles...as a freshman teamed with brother Eric to reach the QF of the doubles at the ITA West Regionals before losing to teammates Eric Chow and Ben Hough...went on to go 8-2 in singles, including an undefeated record in dual match play at #2 through #5 positions...also posted an impressive 8-2 record in doubles with brother Eric and Thomas Keiffer...as a sophomore played well at ITA West Regional tournament where he won three of five singles matches...battled injury in the spring and still managed to go undefeated in dual match play, finishing with a 7-2 overall singles record...played three doubles matches, going 1-2 with Keiffer and Crandall...this season spent the fall in Budapest, Hungary.

Personal:Was featured with bro Eric in a May, 2004 Sports Illustrated piece...In summer of 2006 helped rebuild houses in New Orleans and travelled to Greece for world diplomacy summit...plays guitar and enjoys skimboarding...would consider working with the U.N. after graduation in order to help spread understanding around the world...collects advice...favorite player is Safin for his all-out, no fear style of play...favorite quote: "we live life in between the plans"...nicknamed "S-Mac" and "Smac".
