On Court: Agressive counter-punching player...played #1 singles for four-time state champion Punahou team...two-time state singles champ, 1st team all ILH, and 2005 Player of the Year...ranked #2 in boys 18's in Hawaii and #110 nationally...as a freshman made his debut for the Stags at the ITA West Regionals and reached the quarterfinals before losing in three sets to teammate Larry Wang...teamed with Mike Starr to reach the QF of the doubles before losing to eventual ITA National champs Ellison and Oehm...was 20-8 overall in singles and 11-4 in doubles with four different partners...earned numerous accolades including 1st Team All-SCIAC, ITA West Region Player To Watch, and ITA Scholar-Athlete (for GPA of 3.5 and higher)...as a sophomore won the ITA West Regional singles title as the fifth seed, earning him ITA All-American honors...advanced to the ITA Small College Nationals in Mobile, AL where he finished fourth...ranked fourth nationally in Div III singles at end of fall season...returned in the spring to play at singles positions 1-3 and finished the season with a 14-10 record...won last two matches at #3 singles against Redlands and Santa Cruz in important 5-4 team wins...partnered Brockett, Wu, Wiener, and Starr to go 11-7 in doubles...this season reached the quarterfinals of the ITA West Regionals as an unseeded player, losing to tournament champ Max Liberty-Point from UCSC...played doubles with Ben Wiener and reached the semifinals as an unseeded team with wins over the #7 and #4 seeded teams...ranked #12 in singles and #9 in doubles in the west at the conclusion of the fall season.
