Emma Suh Earns SCIAC Hitter of the Week Honors

CLAREMONT, Calif. - Emma Suh of the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps softball team earned the SCIAC Hitter of the Week Award for games through Sunday, May 7, the league office announced today.

Suh earned the award for the second time this season after playing a key role in helping CMS earn the top seed in the SCIAC Tournament with a doubleheader sweep of Pomona-Pitzer on Saturday. The Athenas won both games 2-0 and Suh had a hand in three of the four runs, driving in a run with an RBI single in a two-run seventh in the opener, and then scoring both runs in the 2-0 win in the nightcap. 

In addition to her three hits, Suh also stole three bases in three attempts to help set up a pair of runs. She scored the lone CMS run in the opening game of the series as well, accounting for four of the five runs that the Athenas accumulated. 

With the sweep, CMS earned the top seed in the SCIAC Tournament and the right to host, and will open play with a rematch against Pomona-Pitzer on Friday at 1 p.m.
