Adam Sage Earns SCIAC Athlete of the Week Distinction

CLAREMONT, Calif. - Adam Sage of the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps men's cross country team earned the SCIAC Athlete of the Week Award for events through Sunday, Oct. 2, the league office announced today.

Sage was the top CMS finisher for the first time in his career, as the Stags earned a fourth-place finish out of 45 teams at the Paul Short Run. Sage had a time of 24:28.3, placing 18th overall and seventh among Division III teams. He was just three seconds behind his PR (set at a fast track at UC Riverside) as he has moved into sixth place all-time at CMS this fall for an 8K race this season.

Sage becomes the second Stag to win the honor this season, as Miles Christensen captured it for a strong performance at the UC Riverside Invitational, where he was the top Division III finisher on Sept. 17.

CMS will be back in action this weekend when it competes at the Pomona-Pitzer Invitational, the Stags' only appearance in Claremont this fall.
