Occidental Uses Fourth-Quarter Run to Defeat CMS Men's Water Polo

EAGLE ROCK, Calif. - Cristian Pang had four goals, including one which gave CMS a 10-9 lead in the fourth quarter, but Occidental scored the final four goals of the game to take a 13-10 win and hand the Stags their first conference defeat.

With the loss, CMS now stands at 4-8 on the year and 1-1 in conference, while Occidental moves to 3-8 and 1-0 in the league. 

Hayden Comerford scored the first three goals in the 4-0 run to turn a 10-9 deficit into a 12-10 lead, before Shea Grosz finished it off with his fourth. 

Five other players had goals for CMS, with William Thomas having a goal and two assists, and Auggie Aliaga and Eli Schwarz each tallying a goal and an assist.

CMS will be back in action when it hosts the Gary Troyer Tournament on Friday and Saturday, opening with a game against Pepperdine on Friday at 2 p.m., followed by Fresno Pacific at 6 p.m., and Johns Hopkins (11:40 a.m.) and Air Force (5 p.m.) on Saturday.
