CLAREMONT, Calif. - A total of 10 members of the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps men's water polo team were honored by the Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches for their academic performance, the organization announced today.

Four Stags earned the highest distinction of Outstanding All-Academic honors (given to athletes with a 3.70 GPA or higher), including senior All-American Zack Rossman, junior Eric Weiner, and sophomores Will Clark and Eric Warmoth. Earning Superior All-Academic status were senior All-American Ethan Lewis and sophomores Sam Harrison, Matt Tran and Andrew Wraith, while Excellent All-America distinction went to senior Harrison Miller and first-year Nick Hernandez

As a program, CMS was one of only 35 in the nation to earn All-Academic Team honors, carrying a 3.35 GPA.

In the pool, the Stags also had tremendous success in 2019, earning a bid to the first-ever USA Water Polo Division III Championship and finishing as the national runner-up. CMS finished the year with a 16-10 record and advanced to both the SCIAC finals and the USA Water Polo Championship with a dramatic comeback win over Pomona-Pitzer in the league semifinals.
