DelVecchio, Ratkovich Move Up CMS Rankings at Mt. SAC Relays

WALNUT, Calif. - Mason Ratkovich moved up to sixth in CMS history in the 1500 meters, and Ellis DelVecchio jumped to seventh in the 800 meters at the Mt. SAC Relays on Friday afternoon.

Ratkovich earned a time of 3:48.96, which moved him up from 10th in CMS history to sixth, just barely behind Henry Pick's 3:48.92 from last year. The all-time record of 3:46.99 was set by Daniel Sealand in 2022.

Ratkovich's time also moves him up to No. 7 in NCAA Division III this season, pending other results from this weekend.

DelVecchio, meanwhile, finished the 800 in 1:51.28, which places seventh in CMS history. He currently places No. 14 in Division III this year as he tries to get back to the NCAA Division III Championships again this year after being part of the second-place 4x400 relay a year ago.

Sarath Kakani also competed at the Mt. SAC Relays in the shot put and had a throw of 51'4.25" (15.65 meters). Kakani's best throw this season was a 52'11" last weekend at the SCIAC Multi-Dual, which places him 16th nationally.

CMS will be back in action next weekend when it tries to defend its SCIAC title on Saturday and Sunday at Pomona-Pitzer.
