Kaden Cassidy Wins SCIAC Men's Field Athlete of the Week for Stags

CLAREMONT, Calif. - First-year thrower Kaden Cassidy earned the SCIAC Men's Field Athlete of the Week for events through Sunday, Feb. 18, the conference office announced today.

Cassidy earned the win in two events at the Pomona-Pitzer All-Comers Meet. He captured first in the hammer throw with a top throw of 164'7", winning by a margin of 27 feet. He then edged out Brett Olson of Azusa Pacific in the discus with a throw of 138'11", winning by 3 feet, two inches.

Cassidy helped CMS earn a clean sweep of the throws, as the Stags continued their dominance in the four events. Ian Osborne won the shot put (with Sarath Kakani and Jacob Yep second and third) and George Kruger earned the javelin win. 

CMS will be back in action when it hosts the Rossi Relays on Saturday, beginning at 10:30 a.m.
