Pick, meanwhile, finished with a 14:15.31 in the 5000 at the Bryan Clay Invitational, hosted by Azusa Pacific, just edging the record held by former teammate Stevie Steinberg (14:15.36) set last year by five-hundredths of a second. Pick, who finished fourth at the NCAA Division III Championships in the 5000 last year, passed his PR just over a half-second, surpassing his previous best of 14:15.92.
In addition to breaking the CMS record, the 4x400 time of 3:10.56 also placed fourth at the Mt. SAC Relays behind only Arkansas, Michigan, and San Jose State (and ahead of Minnesota State, Cal Poly Pomona, Stanford, Miami (Fla.), South Florida and Southern Utah in fifth through 10th place.
Campbell ran a 21.25 in the 200 to place 10th in a field of 53 mostly Division I runners. The nine runners in front of him represented Arkansas, Missouri, Georgia, Georgia, Cal St. Fullerton, Houston, UCLA, Texas A&M and Grand Canyon. He also ran a 10.66 in the 100, which placed him 19th in a field of 59 runners.
