Jamie Cockburn, Henry Pick Earn CoSIDA Academic All-District Honors

CLAREMONT, Calif. - Jamie Cockburn and Henry Pick each captured Division III Men's Cross Country/Track and Field Academic All-District honors from the College Sports Information Directors Association (CoSIDA), the organization announced today.

Cockburn was named the SCIAC Track Athlete of the Year after sweeping the 200 meters and the 400 meters individually, and anchoring the 4x400 relay to another win as CMS captured the SCIAC Championship. Academically, he has been a USTFCCCA All-Academic selection, and carries over a 3.8 grade point average at Claremont McKenna as a media studies major.

Pick was the SCIAC Cross Country Athlete of the Year after winning the league championship and placing third in the country at the NCAA Championships in the fall, and following up with another SCIAC title in the 5000 meters at the track and field championships earlier this month. He has also earned SCIAC All-Academic team honors, and carries over a 3.9 GPA as a computer science and mathematics major at Harvey Mudd.

Both Cockburn and Pick will be in action at the NCAA Division III Track and Field Championships this weekend in Geneva, Ohio, with Cockburn running in the prelims of the 200 meters and the 4x400 relay tonight, and Pick running in the 5000 meters on Saturday.

By earning a spot on the Academic All-District team, both Cockburn and Pick are now eligible for Academic All-America honors, which will be announced next month.
