Robert Liu enters his second season as an assistant coach with the CMS men's tennis program in 2023-24.

Liu played for the Stags for four seasons, concluding his career with a record of 54-17 in singles, giving him the 16th best winning percentage (.761) in CMS history. His doubles record was also 72-25, the 18th best career winning percentage (.742) in Stags Tennis history, while his combined singles and doubles career win percentage (.750) places him 10th all-time. Liu and Jack Katzman finished as the ninth best team in Stags history for career wins (45), and fifth for career winning percentage (.763).

As a senior, he earned All-America honors after winning the ITA West Region championship in singles, and finished the year ranked No. 1 in the west and No. 12 nationally in singles. He won the ITA Senior Player of the Year and was a nominee for the ITA Most Improved Senior in the West Region. He earned the CMC Senior Student-Athlete of the Year, and the 2022 Henry A. Krieger Award, which recognizes student leadership, athletic accomplishments, and academic excellence, and was also voted Most Valuable Player by his teammates.
