On Court: Ranked #6 in Texas and #78  nationally in Boys 18 singles...also reached semifinals of 5A Texas High School Team Championships freshman year and finals of Team Championships sophomore year while at Westlake High School...played USTA National Clays and represented Texas in Junior Davis Cup during summer prior to matriculating at CMC...as a freshman reached the singles round of 16 in the ITA West Regionals in the fall...in spring duals, won fifteen (15) consecutive singles matches, not losing until April 26 at the Ojai tournament...played at every singles position for the Stags, but most consistently at #5, and ended the season with a 19-4 record (.826), good for sixth best in CMS history for a single season...went 10-4 with four different doubles partners, including 5-1 with Wiener, and 4-2 with Starr...as a sophomore lost in the second round at the ITA West Regionals in singles and doubles (with Chien)...returned in the spring playing at #3 through #6 singles and going 17-11 overall...won seven straight matches in April at #5 and #6...broke into the doubles starting lineup at the end of the season, partnering Keiffer at Ojai and then Schils at #3 doubles, going 4-7 overall...winner of the prestigious Hank Kreiger Trophy for his commitment to the team...as a junior spent the fall in Salamanca, Spain...returned in the spring to start at the #5 singles slot, but spent most of the season at the #4 position...played #1 singles and defeated NCAA singles qualifier Amrik Donkena of Gustavus Adolphus in straight sets...finished with an overall singles record of 14-6 and a #22 singles ranking in the west...partnered Mac Cahill at #3 doubles to begin the spring, then played one match with Eric MacColl at #2, and finished the season with senior captain Mikey Lim at #3...Brockett and Lim were a solid 6-2 together, including four important wins during the NCAA team tournament...finished with an 11-4 overall doubles record... as a senior recorded his best results in three tries at the ITA West Regionals, reaching the quarters of the singles as the 10th seed, and then the quarters of the doubles (with Wei) as the 6th seeded team...earned fall rankings of #41 nationally and #11 in the West in singles, and #12 in the West in doubles...debuted at #3 singles, winning his first three dual matches...went 8-2 in April, playing primarily at #4...finished at that position, earning a 16-5 dual match record and a career best 21-7 singles record overall...also completed his best doubles season ever, partnering five Stags (Wei, Johnson, Pereverzin, Cahill, and Erani) to a 24-8 record...won nine straight dual matches with Cahill and Erani at #3 beginning in late March...his outstanding conference singles and doubles play earned him 2nd Team All-SCIAC honors for the second straight year...Brockett completes his Stags Tennis career with a 71-28 singles record, placing him 15th all-time in matches won and 19th in career winning percentage (.717)...his 49-23 career doubles record, a winning percentage of .681, is particularly impressive given that he played with twelve (12) different partners over his four-year career...ITA Scholar-Athlete earning above a 3.5 GPA sophomore, junior, and senior yearsBrockett will be remembered as one of Stags Tennis' greatest personalities and toughest competitors.
