: Grad transfer from Trinity University, where he started for four years and was team captain his last two seasons...had career records of 50-21 in singles and 80-25 in doubles, playing primarily at the 4-6 singles and No. 1 doubles positions...earned SCAC All-Conference accolades all four years, and was a 14 time recipient of SCAC Doubles Team of the Week... as a senior he earned earned ITA All-American honors in doubles, having spent the entire season ranked between No. 2 and No. 6 nationally...he also won the ITA's Most Improved Senior award for the west region and was Trinity's nomination for SCAC Man of the Year...has seven USTA National Championship titles with mother Kathy and father Paul...2022-2023...began his one year stint as a Stag at the ITA D3 West Regionals where he went 1-2 in three matches in Flight A, then partnered Matt Robinson to win five matches in the doubles, including a 6-3, 6-3 decision over Feng and Lumba for the title...this enabled Settles to become the first Stag in program history to earn win two different ITA Regional titles (Southwest in 2021 and West in 2022) and earn ITA All-America honors for two teams (Trinity University as an undergrad and CMS as a grad student)...he and Robinson won two of three matches at the ITA Cup in Rome, GA to finish the Fall season ranked No. 5 nationally and No. 1 in the West...made dual match debut on at No. 1 doubles and No. 4 singles vs. Biola on Feb 11, earning a three-set singles clinch in CMS' 5-2 win...split doubles time at No. 1 with Robinson and Mareedu during Feb and March until he and Robinson became the day-to-day No. 1 from March 30 forward...in their last fifteen matches the duo only had three losses and narrowly missed NCAA individual qualification, but did not lose a match in NCAA team play...Settles also saved his best singles play for last, winning two crucial singles matches in straight sets at No. 4 in the NCAA quarters and semis versus Wash U and Tufts respectively...finished the 2023 season with a singles record of 12-10 and a doubles record of 23-11, earning ITA All-American honors in doubles and 2nd Team All-SCIAC...Settles finished with doubles rankings of No. 12 nationally and No. 3 in the West and also earned the conference's coveted SCIAC Character Award for his leadership with the Stags community service efforts and integration with the Claremont Colleges Tennis On Campus program...completes his collegiate playing career with records of 62-33 in singles and 103-36 in doubles.
