Michael Hao Earns SCIAC Athlete of the Week for CMS Men's Tennis

CLAREMONT, Calif. - Junior Michael Hao earned the SCIAC Men's Tennis Athlete of the Week award for matches through Sunday, May 1, the league office announced today.

Hao was 4-0 in a Saturday doubleheader as CMS closed out the regular season. He was part of the swing point in doubles (8-6 at No. 3) as CMS took an 8-1 win over Redlands, securing its 16th straight undefeated season in SCIAC play. He then won 6-2, 6-2 in singles, while adding a 6-4, 6-0 win in singles against San Diego Christian and a 6-1 win in doubles.

Hao becomes the fourth different Stag to win the SCIAC Athlete of the Week honor this season, with senior Robert Liu capturing it twice. Philip Martin also captured it after winning at No. 1 singles against Williams (and the second-ranked player in the country), while Matthew Robinson captured it after a perfect 6-0 record at the ITA Indoor Championships. 

CMS will be back in action for the SCIAC Tournament this weekend, facing Occidental on Friday in the semifinals at the Biszantz Family Tennis Center at 3 p.m.
