CLAREMONT, Calif. - Senior Nikolai Parodi captured the final SCIAC Men's Tennis Athlete of the Week Award for the 2020 season for events through Sunday, March 15, the league office announced today.

Parodi earned the honor after picking up two more wins to his collegiate total in singles and doubles in a 9-0 win over Haverford. Parodi earned a 6-4, 6-2 win at No. 1 singles and an 8-3 win at No. 1 doubles to help CMS close out its abbreviated 2020 campaign with a shutout victory.

Parodi ended his senior campaign with a 15-3 record in singles, including an ITA West Region championship in the fall, and an undefeated mark against Division III opponents in dual matches in the spring. He was also 11-3 in doubles to lead the Stags with 26 wins on the year, while increasing his career win total to 187 (102 in singles and 85 in doubles), almost all of which came while playing at No. 1.

In addition to his individual success, Parodi helped CMS to three NCAA Regional titles in three years, and to the national championship match as a freshman and junior. He was also the national runner-up in singles at the NCAA Championships in 2017.

CMS concluded 2020 with a 15-1 record after an abbreviated season, as well as a No. 2 national ranking from the Intercollegiate Tennis Association.
