Parodi, Katzman Lead Five Stags Ranked in the National Top 50 After Fall Season

CLAREMONT, Calif. - Senior Nikolai Parodi is ranked third in the nation and junior Jack Katzman places fourth in the NCAA Division III rankings released today by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association following the conclusion of the fall season.

Parodi and Katzman faced each other in the NCAA West Region championship match (which Parodi won), and both advanced to the semifinals of the ITA Cup in Rome, Georgia. Parodi fell to Boris Sorkin of Tufts, who is ranked No. 1 after the fall season, while Katzman fell to No. 2 Stanley Morris of Middlebury.

A total of five Stags earned their way into the top 50 rankings heading into the spring season. First-year Ian Freer placed No. 26 nationally, senior Daniel Park held down the No. 31 spot, and sophomore Nic Meister placed No. 42.

In doubles, Katzman and junior Robert Liu were the only duo to place for CMS in the top 25, hodling down the No. 23 spot at the conclusion of the fall.

CMS is coming off a season in which it reached the national championship match before falling 5-3 to Emory. It was the fifth time in the last seven years that the Stags have reached the NCAA finals, including a national championship season in 2015.
