On Court: Two-time All-Met player of the year...No. 1 in D.C. in all age groups...did not lose a match since his sophomore year...went 44-3 at Maret, and undefeated at home at the #1 singles position for all four years...led his high school to the Mid-Atlantic Conference co-championship as a sophomore...ranked No. 14 by the USTA Mid-Atlantic 18s...four varsity letters...captain for one year...as a freshman earned starting singles and doubles spots for Vanderbilt University, going 12-18 at the #4 through #6 singles positions, and 15-16 at #2 and #3 doubles with three different partners...clinched Vandy's win over #61 Alabama with his 7-5, 6-4 victory at #6...helped Vanderbilt win their first SEC victory with his defeat of #33 South Carolina's Carl Eguez ... also clinched the match against Brown at #4 singles...finished the fall tournament season with a 6-5 singles record ... beat #106 Patrick Kawka of #49 BYU in the first round of the ITA Kickoff hosted at Pepperdine...made his Stags Tennis debut as a sophomore at the USTA / ITA West Regionals, where he reached the singles semifinals and won the doubles title with partner Warren Wood...he and Wood advanced to USTA / ITA Small College Nationals in Mobile, AL where they were 2-1 and finished third...his 4-1 singles mark earned him a West Region Fall ranking of #8, whlie he and Wood were 7-1, earning ITA All-American honors in addition to a #2 doubles ranking in the West and #3 ranking nationally...continued his play as one of the top singles and doubles players nationally...started the spring at #2 singles and #1 doubles with Wood...went 15-8 in singles dual match play at #2 and #1, earning impressive straight set wins against Wash U, Trinity (TX), Case, Kenyon, Emory, Middlebury, Pomona-Pitzer, Redlands, and Santa Cruz...played the top singles spot in the Stags' final three NCAA team matches, including a win against Williams' Meyer in the championship match...finshed 2013 with West Region and National Division III singles rankings of #9 and #31 respectively...partnered Wood at the #1 doubles position for all but the final three matches at NCAAs...set single season Stags Tennis record for doubles matches played (44) and doubles matches won (32)...he and Wood also set CMS Stags Tennis record for matches played (41) and matches won (30) by a doubles team in a single season, breaking the 25 year-old record set by Lance Au and Frank Hinman in 1988...in addition to his season records of 19-10 in singles and 32-12 in doubles, Dorn earns ITA All-America honors for doubles, as well as SCIAC Newcomer of the Year and 1st Team All-SCIAC honors...as a junior entered USTA / ITA West Regionals as #2 seed in singles, winning first four matches without losing more than five games in any one match...lost tough three-set battle to teammate and eventual Regionals champ Skyler Butts in the semis...finished fall with singles rankings of #7 in the West and #27 nationally...paired with Warren Wood in doubles, winning two of three matches at West Regionals...returned in the spring as one of two captains to lead the Stags in their 2014 campaign...started the spring at #1 singles then moved to #2 for good in the third match...won his first six dual matches en route to a 14-4 singles dual match record...his 11-1 record in the West helped him qualify as one of four Stags in the NCAA Singles tournament, where he advanced all the way to the semifinals, before losing to teammate Wood...was particularly impressive in the month of May, where his only loss was in the NCAA semis, and included wins over Dale of Amherst and C arswell of Wash U, whom he had lost to during the regular season...partnered Wood in doubles as the consensus #1 team in the West region all spring...the tandem won four of five matches at the #1 spot during the NCAA team competition and earned the #1 seed in the NCAA Doubles tournament...despite being upset in three sets in the first round, still finished up as best in the West and fifth nationally...completed 2014 with rankings of #4 nationally and #2 in the West in singles, and #5 nationally and #1 in the West in doubles with Wood...earned 1st Team All-SCIAC honors, as well as ITA All-American honors in singles and doubles...overall records of 22-7 in singles and 25-11 in doubles...as a senior spent the fall semester abroad in Granada, Spain...returned in the spring to post a 16-4 singles record and 33-4 doubles record and win the NCAA D3 doubles championship with partner Warren Wood - the first CMS NCAA doubles title since 2008...playing primarily at #4 singles, Dorn was dominant in his final season, losing only three total dual matches and only two matches at the D3 level...earned 1st Team All-SCIAC and ITA All-America honors for the third straight year...his 37 doubles matches played and 33 won place him 9th and 4th for a single season, while his .892 doubles winning per centage as senior was the second best ever, behind only his partner Wood...Dorn's 57-21 career singles record and 90-27 doubles record place him among the top twenty best in career winning percentages in both categories...completes a doubles career with Wood that places the duo second in matches played (109) and won (85), and third in career winning percentage (.780), while setting the single season record for best winning percentage at .909 with their 30-3 mark as NCAA Doubles Champions in 2015...finished 2015 with singles ranking of #15 in the west, and doubles rankings of #1 nationally and regionally...in addition to being one of CMS' greatest singles and doubles players, Dorn will also be remembered for making the Stags one of the most well-liked and respected teams in all of collegiate tennis.
