Men's Tennis Beats #5 Wash U

Robbie Erani (Jr. - New York, NY) and Russell Brockett (Sr. - Austin, TX) won at #3 doubles and at #3 and #4 singles to help CMS defeat #5 Washington University in St. Louis. The Stags' 6-3 victory at the Austin Tennis Academy on Sunday morning ended CMS' Texas swing on an up note. CMS went 2-1 on the trip, beating #11 Trinity and #5 Wash U, and losing to #6 UC Santa Cruz.

Brockett and Erani got their third win at #3 doubles in as many days, with today's 8-6 victory putting CMS up 2-1. Erani,  making his first singles appearance since February 26, was a 6-2, 6-2 winner at #3 singles, giving the Stags a 3-1 advantage. Senior captain Ronald Wu (Los Altos, CA) put CMS up 4-1 with his three set win at #5 singles, before Wash U got their first singles point at the #6 position. Alex Lane (So. - Claremont, CA) provided the clinching win at #1 singles with his 7-5, 7-6(4) victory.

CMS is now 15-3 on the season and takes on Gustavus Adolphus College this Thursday at 3:00 PM at the Biszantz Family Tennis Center.
