Stags Drop 5-4 Decision to UCSC in Texas

Sophomore Mac Cahill (Southport, CT [pictured right]) won his second singles match of CMS Men's Tennis' Texas trip, but the Stags were upset by #6 UC Santa Cruz 5-4 in San Antonio on Saturday. CMS played three important three-setters in singles, with only Cahill coming away with a victory.

Freshman Zhenya Pereverzin (Clackamas, OR) won his eighth straight singles match with a comfortable 6-3, 6-3 win at #6. Pereverzin's win gave the Stags a 3-1 lead which CMS was unable to hold.

CMS wraps up it's three match Texas trip with a contest on Sunday against #5 ranked Washington University (St. Louis) at the Austin Tennis Academy. CMS was a 5-3 winner over Wash U in the 3rd Place match of the NCAA Team Championships last May.
